Missing the Glow ...

{click on picture to enlarge}

I must admit ... I'm missing the lights and sparkles and warm glow that Christmas brings.

I adore the month of December, when homes - inside and out - are so bright and cheerful.

Don't get me wrong ... once all the lights and decorations are packed away, I love that my house seems, suddenly, bigger and cleaner and more open than before.

But, I do miss the lights.

So, I thought I'd reminisce with photos of our annual trip to ZooLights ... so spectacular!

Is there anything about the holiday season that you miss?

Beautiful lights! I definitely miss the lights too. I agree with you about the house seeming bigger and cleaner after the decorations are put away, though.

I was so sad when I took down the Christmas tree and lights this weekend. They really sparkle up house and brighten my mood.

The busyness, the dropping in and glad opening of doors. The Church dressed to the nines. Looking forward to November's last week when the fun starts.

Hi Kelly....
What a beautiful collage of photos!
Yes...I miss that Christmas feeling/glow. It seems to go by so very quickly!
Thanks for stopping by today!
You have beautiful photos and thoughts here!!

What cool lights! In Portland, Maine they keep the lights up all winter and it helps with our long nights. They are strings and balls of light hanging from the city trees so not really tied to any holiday.

I do love the Christmas lights too. It's so drab and blah in January without them. :)

Oh, it's gorgeous! I wonder if we have anything like that near us! My kids would LOVE it!

I do too! I miss Christmas once it's gone but I think if it lasted all year, we wouldn't appreciate it as much.

I'm not missing Christmas yet here - I'm just getting over the flu, so I haven't even begun taking anything down.
But yes, the bright cheerful outdoor lights. I told my son a few weeks ago that his neighborhood looks great all lit up at night and he said, "yeah, well a lot of it's kinda tacky." Tacky? Naah, just festive! I love a classic all white elegant look, too, but for FUN, give me those red lighted elephants and that fantastic blue peacock!

It always makes me a little sad to pack everything up. My house looks naked now that all the decorations are put away. *pouts*

Gorgeous pictures. :)

Happy 2011,
Lola
