A 4-year old daughter who takes notice of the pink and purple hues in the sky as the sun sets ... and is excited to point them out to me.
A 7-year old son who - upon noticing that we have just run out of Halloween candy after passing out 160 pieces to 160 adorably-dressed trick-or-treaters and we still have 10 kids left standing at our doorstep - runs over to his own, freshly-collected Halloween stash, grabs 10 pieces of sweets, and proceeds to hand them out to the kids waiting in anticipation on our porch.
And, the following two songs (and videos) ...
I dare you to sit still while listening to this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoaTl7IcFs8
I dare you not to smile during this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TTAUv-FM3I
Snagging a book contract would also fit into this list quite nicely. But ... that will have to wait for another day! Something to look forward to, I guess! :-)
Have a happy one!

I'm right there with ya, gal! Your son is PRECIOUS. I love his heart. Children are our legacy whether or not we're ever published.
What sweet kids! You are lucky indeed.
What a precious thing for your son to do!
I love both of those videos! Thanks for sharing!
That song is downloading onto my iPod right this second. Love it.
That's so sweet. You must be a great mom.
Kids are amazing, aren't they? We are in a brand new house and were bummed at the lack of trick or treaters we got this year. We were candy prepared but the kids didn't come :(
Love it.. :) Greatest gifts. :)
How sweet of your son! And what an observant daughter. Precious memories for sure :)
Ohhh, both of your children warm my heart! How sweet!
Fun videos too! (the second one did make me giggle!)
I'm reaching for that dream every day!
Still not as priceless as these little ones.
How adorable. Your kids sound amazing. I hoarded my candy as a kid. ; )
And I love "Say Hey"!
Sweet, sweet kids! Have a great weekend. :O)
Aren't little ones sweet. So are book deals...Hope you get one soon.
What do you write? I'm guessing PBs.
We don't even buy candy. If any kids actually come to our home after we get home, I just grab into the kids buckets. Actually, this year, I had them immediately get some candy ready for trick or treaters after we got home. But none came. So I brought that candy to work. ;)
You had 160 trick or treaters?! More than us. I think we had about 70. I know someone who had--are you sitting down--OVER ONE THOUSAND!
Thank you for all your wonderful comments! I so enjoy reading them!!!
